Awards finalist Energy Options listed in Deloitte Top 50

Finalist in the Trailblazer Not for Profit Category Energy Options has been named in the Deloitte Top 50 fastest growing New Zealand Businesses for 2009

 
It was announced last week that Energy Options was the 49th fastest growing business in New Zealand.  The competition was run by Deloittes, where they sought the top 50 fastest  growing businesses in the country.  All businesses in the top 50 achieved 147% plus growth.

“It was a huge achievement for our business” says Nik Gregg, General Manager of Energy Options.  Energy Options was one of the few ‘service companies’ involved and one of the few (if not the only) community owned business with both  environmental and social objectives.  Nik says “it’s great to
see that community owned organizations that are out there to care for the community and are not profit driven can still be recognized as one of the top 50 fastest growing businesses in New Zealand.

Alongside managing this rapid growth that they have experienced, Energy Options has tried to remain true to their values.  Energy Options values include ‘to help the cold, sick and vulnerable, supporting their community, job creation and caring for the environment.’

The practice of these values is seen through the portfolio of Energy Options community involvement projects.  Among these efforts are the distribution of free curtains to homes in need, planting trees, sponsoring local charities, Involved in community home makeover projects, running a school safety programme, distributing safe and smart packs to early childhood centers, plunkets and schools, a free energy check of the home (thanks to the Eastern Bay Energy Trust) and offering free non biased product advice.
