BACKGROUND

Westpac is a multinational financial services company and the second largest bank in New Zealand. Services include retail, business and consumer banking, investment services, home loans and insurance service, as well as myriad services to corporate and institutional customers. Since establishing in New Zealand in 1861, it has become the dominant provider of banking services to small to medium business, corporate and institutional organisations, and is the banker of the New Zealand government. Currently Westpac boasts around 1.2 million customers, 3,000 shareholders and 208 branches nationwide.
